Portugal Telecom’s satellite and IP delivered TV service MEO has reached 100,000 subscribers since its commercial launch in April. As at June 30, Meo had 116,000 subscribers between the two platforms.
Successive advertising campaigns have highlighted the high definition pictures available on the platform, most recently including Eurosport’s HD coverage of the Olympic Games. Disney Channel has now also been included in the basic package.
The campaign has been so successful that as record levels at the end of June reached 64% and have remained about 50% since the campaign went live at the beginning of April.
