Telenet has announced it received 10 million requests for VOD content in the period between January 1 and July 31, 2008. Since the advent of Telenet Digital TV in 2005, a total of 26 million VOD transactions have taken place. The operator also said they have now reached 450,000 digital subscribers.

Top requests during the first half of 2008 were for the Will Smith movie I am Legend, made available under the Day & Date scheme at the same time as its DVD release. Shrek the Third was in second place and Transformers was third.
In its half-yearly update of its digital television progress it would also revealed Prime will be made available as a digital service throughout Flanders from August 1. The premium channel will now feature on the Interkabel part of the network.
Four BBC digital channels, BBC Three, BBC Four, CBeebies and CBBC have been added to Telenet’s basic packages. The VOD range was enhanced by ActuaTV à la Carte, Podium Arts à la Carte and the French-language version of MTV and Nickelodeon à la carte. Digital text was launched by Vitaya, Prime, TMF and ATV.
