Five out of every seven new pay-TV subscribers in Africa are selecting GTV, according to a recent report by research company Balancing Act released by the DTH operator.
“We respect that people have a choice as to how they spend their money for entertainment and we are incredibly proud that so many African families are choosing GTV. With the tremendous demand we are experiencing, I am more convinced than ever that we will realise our dream of delivering affordable satellite television to every home in Africa,” Julian McIntyre, founder and managing director said in a statement.
Since its launch one year ago GTV has activated over 100,000 subscriptions and claims 1.25 million regular viewers on a monthly basis. GTV’s mix of entertainment, sport, including the Premier League, religion and news is currently available in 20 markets with plans to expand to 30 by the end of the year.
