GlobeCast and SES New Skies have signed five-year contracts for the continued use of two 36MHz transponders on the NSS-806 satellite at 319.5 degrees East (40.5 degrees West). The terms of the contracts have not been made public.
The signatures continue the relationship between Globecast and New Skies going back to the latter’s inception as a global satellite operator in 1998.
“This latest deal will allow our international roster of clients to continue to receive the high quality broadcasting services they require to meet their growing needs,” GlobeCast North America CEO Mary Frost said.
NSS-806 provides connectivity between the Americas and Europe. It carries over 120 Spanish and Portuguese language channels reaching approximately 13.5 million homes and 3,500 cable head-ends across South and Central America.
