The Polish TV market remains very much a three-horse race between the public broadcaster TVP and national commercial stations Polsat and TVN.
According to data produced by TNS OBOP, TVP’s first and second channels were the most popular amongst viewers aged 4+ in H1 this year, claiming audience shares of 24.01% and 16.94% respectively.
They were followed by Polsat (16.10%) and TVN (15.54%), while News Corp-backed TV Puls, hoping to break into the postitions occupied by the ‘big three’, was only in 14th position (0.63%).
TVN 24 remained the most popular thematic channel (2.89%), ahead of Mini Mini (0.84%) and AXN (0.72%).
Figures for June show TVP1 still in the lead (22.10%), followed by Polsat (20.80%), TVP2 (15.77%) and TVN (13.32%).
