NTV chief Svein Aarvik has appealed to Norway’s Post and Telecommunications Authority, asking it to review the decision that could force the DTT operator to share its capacity with a rival operator.
Aarvik told Broadband TV News that the real threat came from other platforms and not DTT itself. “We know the rules and we are trying to follow them, but we have a different view to what the Norwegian Post and Telecommunications Authority has on this issue,” said Aarvik.
The authority now has two months to decide if it will accept NTV’s viewpoint or pass it onto the ministry of communications. If this were to happen, then a decision may not be forthcoming until early 2009.
