The US investment company CME has completed the acquisition of a 30% minority stake in Ukraine’s Studio 1+1, thereby raising its interest in the broadcasting group to 90%.
The total amount paid for the stake was $219.6 million (€139.3 million), of which $79.6 million went to Boris Fuchsmann and Alexander Rodnyansky and $140 million to Igor Kolomoisky.
Fuchsmann and Rodnyansky still hold the remaining 10% in Studio 1+1, which is subject to a put and call option.
CME has interests in six CEE countries and expects Ukraine to eventually become its leading market.
