Finnish technology provider Teleste has secured a €12 million order from India’s Digicable network.
Teleste will supply an IP-based digital television platform to the Mumbai-based operator as part of a headend in the sky platform that includes both IPTV and DVB-C. The solution is based on Teleste’s recently launched Teleste Luminato IP headend technology. Digicable has also opted for an MHEG-5 interactive solution from the UK’s Strategy & Technology.
In a statement, Teleste said the order positioned the company in the forefront of the Indian cable television digitalisation process.
The majority of the order will be delivered during 2009/10.
The order pushed up the value of Teleste’s shares by 11.4% against falls on the Helsinki stock exchange.
