Turner Broadcasting brands Nuts TV and Adult Swim have added dedicated content channels on MySpaceTV following a new deal with the social networking site.
The Nuts TV channel will premiere a 30 x two-minute series Belly Dancing Mobi – Diaries, shot entirely on a Nokia N95 mobile handset.
“Nuts TV is a brand that absolutely lends itself to innovation on digital media platforms,” said Nuts TV director Tony Ragan. “The fact that we’re filming high quality video mobile footage, then airing it online, followed by airing on the channel, shows how new media can drive towards linear.”
Nuts TV was launched by Turner Broadcasting in September 2007, in partnership with IPC Media, the publisher of the top selling men’s magazine. It is available on Sky and Freeview, and already has an online presence through Bebo, and its own website.
Animation-led Adult Swim also has a multichannel strategy, taking branded blocks on the UK’s Bravo, Germany’s Sat.1 Comedy and Spain’s TNT. It also has distribution through BT Vision, You Tube and MySpace.
