The OTE-backed Romanian incumbent telco Romtelecom says that its ADSL broadband internet access service ClickNet now has over 500,000 subscribers.
Launched three years ago, it saw its market share of the broadband market rise from about 6-7% to 20% in 2007.
Romtelecom plans to start an IPTV trial later this year. It already operates Dolce, one of Romania’s five DTH platforms, which also claims just over 500,000 subscribers.
