Alexander Rodnyansky has vacated the post of CEO at Russia’s CTC Media but will remain its president.
He will also join the board of directors and remain actively involved in programming strategy, investor relations and content procurement and development.
The position of CEO will now be held by Anton Kudryashov, with effect from August 4.
CTC Media lists Sweden’s Modern Times Group as a majority (39.6% shareholder), and Rodnyansky, who has been with the company since 2002, retains a stake of around 5%.
The move is believed to have been prompted by falling ratings at CTC, the company’s flagship channel.
