UPC Nederland has introduced a new way to communicate with its HD customers: by a daily chat on the MSN Live instant messenger service. Every weekday between 2pm and 4pm an HD expert at the cabler answers live questions from customers.
The operator has decided to start this novel way of communicating with its customers because HD technology is more complicated than regular SD. All platforms are now reporting a surge in HD subscriptions, but none of them have so far issued any exact number of HD subscribers.
At the moment, there are four HD platforms, those of cablers UPC, Ziggo and CAIWay and that of DTH provider Canal Digitaal Satelliet.
