Arabsat announced today that the launch of its BADR-6 satellite will take place in Kouru, French Guyana, on Friday July 4, at 21:20 GMT. The new satellite, manufactured by Astrium of France, will be launched by an Ariane 5 Rocket.
Khalid Balkhyour, Arabsat president & CEO, said in a press release that “the BADR-6 satellite is an Astrium Eurostar E2000+ model and is a multipurpose communications satellite designed to serve the Arab World and neighboring regions and countries. The Ku-band and C-Band interactive TV and internet broadband services, with additional capacity to accommodate anticipated demand for HDTV.”
