The Hungarian public channel M2 will switch from analogue to digital distribution next month.
Local reports say the satellite-delivered service, which is operated by Magyar Televizió (MTV), is currently only one of four channels on Hot Bird at 13 degrees East that is still distributed FTA in analogue, one of the others being Duna TV, another Hungarian public channel.
As a digital service, M2 is also expected to start offering HD programming.
M2 has been a satellite-delivered channel since losing its terrestrial frequencies to a newly launched national commercial TV sector, served by RTL Klub and TV2, in 1997.
