The two Benelux DTH platforms Canal Digitaal Satelliet and TV Vlaanderen have withdrawn the certification of a number of older satellite receivers. The limited built-in memory capacity of the receivers does not meet the requirements of the latest software upgrade.
The problems arise with the so-called ‘fast scan’ functionality to load the channel list onto the box. When the number of channels exceed 450, the memory of these receivers is not capable of coping with the information.
According to the platforms, the receivers involved are Rebox 2250 and Strong 6825/6850/6855 and possibly the Philips 7071 / 7072. The operator says on its website it is looking to solve the issue. Owners of the sets involved can subscribe to a special alert service.
