Croatian associations in Slovenia have filed a request at the District Court in Ljubljana for a temporary decree against three Slovenian operators for not carrying Croatia’s HRT 2 during live transmissions of Euro 2008.
They have demanded that the companies in question – UPC Telemach, Ljubljanski Kabel, and T-2 – carry HRT 2 and suggested that the court punishes the operators with a fine of €100,000 per day of violation until the total fine reaches €1 million for each offender.
The associations see the operators’ actions as discrimination against Croats living in Slovenia and have also addressed their complaint to the Consumer Protection Office and Competition Office.
