Croatian stations report 2007 revenues

June 13, 2008 07.46 Europe/London By Branislav Pekic

The total income recorded by local TV stations in Croatia last year amounted to around HRK100 million (€13.8 million).

This was equivalent to 1/10 of HRT’s, 1/3 of RTL’s, and 2/3 of Nova TV’s revenues. Thanks to receiver licence fees, HTV has been able to significantly reduce ad prices, thereby putting some 20 local stations in an unfavourable position.

The two most successful local stations in Croatia are OTV, which last year posted an income of HRK14.4 million but no profit, and Televizija Sljeme (Z1), with HRK13.3 million in income and a net profit of HRK1 million.

Kutina-based Nezavisna Televizija and Rijeka-based Kanal Ri were the next best performing, with respective incomes of HRK11.6 million and HRK10.9 million.
