Figures produced by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) show that there were 2.009 million internet subscriptions in the country at the end of the first quarter.
The number of cable network subscription stood at almost 650,000, or 46.5% more than 12 months earlier, while the xDSL total rose 20% year-on-year to 780,000. Wireless internet subscriptions, on the other hand, were up by 67.3% to 496,905.
The Hungarian internet market is dominated by 19 ISPs, which together account for 90% of broadband subscribers.
