Nearly one in four homes in the Czech Republic now watch digital TV services.
Data published by Mediaresearch shows that as of Q1 2008 24.1% of homes survey said they could receive DVB-S, DVB-C, IPTV or DTT signals. The most popular was DVB-S (11.8%, as opposed to 4.2% a year earlier), followed by DVB-T (9.2% versus 4.9%).
The Czech DTH market is served by three platforms (CS Link, Digi TV and UPC Direct), and take up of both cable digital (UPC) and IPTV services is growing rapidly. DTT, too, is now available in most of the largest population centres.
