Swedish IPTV middleware provider Dreampark has said it is “fully committed” to the new SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) standard, designed to optimise the speed and performance of IPTV services.
SVG is being slowly adopted by set-top box manufacturers in the sector. Initial tests carried out by Dreampark have shown SVG to bring dramatic improvements to perceived response times and speed on the client. It is also able to visualise HD graphics without compromising on speed.
“SVG will bring the browser technology to a new level, our tests have shown it. We aim at doing HD graphics with better performance than native clients do SD graphics today,” said.
Dreampark’s Dreamgallery is among the most widely deployed IPTV middleware in Europe.
Clients include Canal Digital, Teracom, Dansk Bredbaand, FastTV, iVisjon/NextGenTel, Smile Content and Viasat.
