Forum Virium Helsinki has given details of a six-month study into the acceptance of mobile TV in Finland. Unsurprisingly for an organisation whose members include Destia, Digita, Elisa, Logica, Nokia, TeliaSonera, TietoEnator, Veikkaus, YIT-Group and YLE, the report is largely positive.
Twenty-seven residents in the greater Helsinki area took part in the trial that looked at both commercial and future services.
The group found mobile TV to be an entertaining device, though it was news coverage that was found to be the most interesting of the available content. The majority of the participant were said to be surprised by the “excellent picture and sound quality of mobile TV”. The similarity of some services to traditional Teletext was appreciated.
