Ocean Blue Software has announced the development of the first application using the new Common Interface Plus (CI+) standard. The technology opens up the integrated digital TVs to run advanced, graphic applications inside a Conditional Access Module (CAM).
Working with SmarDTV, Ocean Blue has developed a suite that includes CI+ browser software that can be included in host devices such as set-top boxes and IDTVs. Test and performance tools are also included.
The solution allows for subscriber applications including personal video recorders, pay-per-view and on demand services.
Ocean Blue says it will work with the CI+ Forum to evolve its browser to incorporate new features such as high definition graphic support as they are specified in specification updates.
