Belgacom TV has won the rights to keep broadcasting the live Jupiler League matches on its IPTV platform for the next three seasons. The operator will pay €44.7 million for each season.
Belgacom will acquire all live rights plus the rights to broadcast highlights on a free-to-air channel. For this, it will use its own dedicated football channel 11 but also cooperate with public broadcasters RTBF (for the French language part of the country) and VRT (for the Dutch speaking part).
For the past three years, Belgacom has been broadcasting the games over its IPTV network. It now about 350,000 connected homes.
