The Czech digital TV channel Z1 has made its debut despite earlier reports that it might be delayed.
A news-based service that will compete directly with the public broadcaster’s CT24, it is one of what will eventually be six new digital TV channels awarded ‘compensatory’ licences by the Radio and TV Council (RRTV).
Z1 is being distributed by (amongst others) UPC, the DTH platform CS Link and DTT multiplex operated by the Czech Digital Group (CDG).
