ANGA Cable – Cologne. The new Russian language DTH service Russian TV Time has started marketing its bouquet of channels. Initially, the service will offer 17 TV channels broadcasting from the Intelsat 12 at 45 degrees East. The channels are either Russian or Russian language versions
At the ANGA Cable show, the new platform has a big stand introducing the new DTH service. Russian TV Time retails at EUR 9.99 a month and customers need to buy a special MPEG2/MPEG4 receiver for EUR 180, with embedded Irdeto encryption. Target audience are Russian expats living in Europe and Israel.
The initial line-up of channels consists of TVCI, U, Ocean TV, Sarafon Television, Travel Channel, O2, ART, Channel 9, Zee TV, ESPN Classic, Mezzo, Inter +, World Made Channel, Bridge TV, TDK and Wedding TV. The line-up will increase in two steps to 30 channels and up tp 50 by September, 2008. There will also be a number of radio stations.
