The Dutch Institute for audience research SKO will start to measure internet video streams from the Dutch public broadcasters and RTL Nederland from July 1st. From September onwards, SKO will also measure viewing figures of 39 digital thematic channels.
SKO has contracted Nedstat to measure internet viewing on a daily basis. The figures will be reported over a 7-day period. The viewing figures for the digital cable channels will be measured by GfK.
Initially, some 39 channels will be part of the trial to start in September. The include channels from NPO (Public broadcasters), MTV Networks, Chellomedia,Chellozone, NBC-Universal, Discovery Networks, Fan TV, NostalgieNet, Carchannel and music channel Xite.
