Data produced by the Portuguese regulator Anacom indicates that there were around 2 million cable and satellite homes in the country – equivalent to 36.2% of the total – receiving subscription services at the end of March.
Cable (1.497 million, up by 0.5% in Q1) accounted for almost 75% of the homes, with the greatest concentration (48.2%) being found in the Lisbon region. The total number of DTH homes was meanwhile, at around 500,000, 3.3% up on the previous quarter.
Both the northern and central regions of Portugal had the highest concentration of dishes (30% each).
