Comstar UTS has signed a strategic agreement with FON Wireless Ltd that will result in the development of a global Wi-Fi network in Russia.
Under the terms of the deal, the network will be created on the basis of Comstar’s subscriber base in Moscow, allowing them to join a network that currently consists of some 230,000 hot spots worldwide.
Fon Wireless Ltd lists Coral/Sistema Strategic Fund, a venture fund set up by Comstar’s backer Sistema, as one of its owners and has several investment partners including BT, Skype and Neuf Cegetel.
