The French media authority CSA has issued 10 year licences for DTT HD broadcasts to TF1 and M6. Broadcasts have to commence on October 30, 2008, at the latest. Two public broadcasters, France 2 and Arte, also have received licences for terrestrial HD.
The CSA has also invited pay-TV operators to put forward proposals for premium HD services over DTT. However, only Canal+ has so far filed an application.
