MGM Networks has given further details of MGM Channel’s debut in Italy. The channel will launch a local language version on Sky Italia beginning June 1.
“This deal represents a significant milestone in our success across Europe. Italy is one of the key European markets that remained untapped for us, and now with this deal, we add an incredible jewel to our crown of channels in Europe”, said Bruce Tuchman, Executive Vice President, MGM Networks.
Last week Broadband TV News reported that the channel had been licensed by the German state of Bavaria.
The MGM Channel will be included in the Sky Italia Cinema package. Movies will be dubbed into Italian and will include titles from such franchises as Rocky and The Pink Panther, and films such us Thelma & Louise, Annie Hall, New York New York, Paths of Glory, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
