Markus Schmid has emerged as the new CEO of the Tele Columbus Group following a year-long strategic reorientation by the German cablenet.
42 year old Schmidt was appointed managing director of the Orion Cable-owned operator in April 2007 and became COO and President in January 2008. Schmidt succeeds Robert Fowler, who continues as executive chairman of Escaline S.a.r.l., the parent company of the Tele Columbus Group and PrimaCom AG in the still somewhat complex structure.
The business and consumer units of Germany’s largest Level 4 cable network operator have now been integrated into a single marketing and sales unit under the leadership of David Hoeflmayr.
Karl Kornwolf takes responsibility for technology and operations as COO following the redefining of the position.
