The Polish MSO Multimedia Polska expects to buy 5-6 smaller cable operators by the end of this year.
Interviewed in the local press, its president Andrzej Rogowski said talks to buy the operators, which each have several tens of thousands homes passed, are at an advanced stage and look highly likely to be successfully concluded.
All told, Multimedia Polska currently has around 30 takeover targets, with each passed home it eventually acquires likely to cost in the region of PLN800-2,000 (€236-590).
Multimedia Polska is the third largest MSO in Poland after UPC and Vectra and expects to spend around PLN160 million on upgrading its infrastructure this year and an unspecified amount on acquisitions.
