The Polish National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has dismissed protests from TVN, TV4 and Telewizja Odra over the award of several terrestrial transmitters to News Corp-backed TV Puls earlier this year.
Local reports say the regulator found no substance to their complaints, and its decision paves the way for the regional TV Puls to significantly increase its coverage.
TV Puls had the terms of its licence changed in January and is now allowed to offer a wide variety of programming rather than the mostly socio-religious fare it served up before.
KRRiT’s decision will allow the station to become available in the cities of Katowice, Nowy Sacz, Szczecin and Wroclaw.
