Orange has begun an HD trial in Slovakia.
According to a local report, the mobile operator is distributing HD versions of the public broadcaster’s channels STV1 and STV2 free of charge to its triple play subscribers.
The service they receive is known as Orange Homebox and uses fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) rather than copper cable to deliver digital TV, fixed line telephony and internet access at speeds of up to 30Mbps.
