The Russian broadcaster CTC Media has posted operating revenues of $136,746,000 (€87,458,108) for the first quarter, or 31.3% more than in the corresponding period in 2007.
At the same time, its OIBDA rose by 24.7% year-on-year to $55,236,000. The company’s viewing figures, however, were slightly down on a year earlier for the CTC Network (8.8% v 9.3% in the 4+ demographic), though that for the Domashny Network (2.3% v 1.9% in the 4+ demographic) was up.
CTC Media includes Sweden’s MTG among its backers and also has a presence in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. It recently agreed to acquire a regional station named DTV, owned by MTG.
