Comstar-UTS ended Q1 with 241,000 pay-TV subscribers in Russia, or 8% more than three months earlier. In Moscow, the figure stood at 130,000.
The company’s broadband Internet subscriber base meanwhile stood at 848,000 nationally (+14%), the majority of which (769,000, +15%) were based in Moscow, where 90% used Internet access speeds of 1Mbps or above.
Sistema-backed Comstar-UTS expects to have one million broadband subscribers in Moscow and 100,000 in the regions by the end of this year and to account for 50% of the Moscow broadband market by the end of 2011.
