Sony Pictures Television International and the ProSiebenSat.1 Group have agreed an extension on their video-on-demand contract for the online video store Maxdome.
The store will add series The Tudors and Damages as well as classic series from the 1960s and 1970s from SPTI’s own on demand service Screen Gems including Charlie’s Angels and I Dream of Jeannie.
“We have built a great relationship with ProSieben and we are delighted with how they are creating innovative new services with our content and in particular with their work on our Screen Gems service,” said Stuart Baxter, Executive Vice President, European Distribution, SPTI. “Increasingly customers are expecting content to be available in all business models; subscription, pay per view and for free through advertiser funding. This agreement meets consumers’ expectation by enabling them to access content through subscription and on an ‘à la carte basis’.”
Movies released in the new packages include Spider-Man 2, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Men in Black II.
