BUDAPEST BUSINESS BREAKFAST: UPC has provided rollout details of its new digital cable service in Hungary, which made its debut at the beginning of this month.
Speaking at the Budapest Business Breakfast organised by Broadband TV News and Telenor Satellite Broadcasting, Gábor Mátrai, the director of government and external relations at UPC Hungary, said it would initially be made available to the 70,000 subscribers in five cities (Budapest, Debrecen, Pecs. Miskolc and Székesfehérvár) using analogue converters and those receiving premium services (HBO) in Budapest and other cities.
As part of the migration process, the analogue converter service and HBO’s analogue channels would be switched off on July1.
UPC’s new digital cable service offers subscribers an additional 18 new digital channels to what they can already receive in analogue, along with five premium HBO channels, three HD channels (Nat Geo HD, Eurosport HD and HBO HD) and Hustler TV.
