The Romanian incumbent telco Romtelecom is reported to have chosen Radu Tudorache, the local representative of Google, as the head of residential voice services division.
Tudorache, who has until now also been responsible for overseeing the state’s telecom regulatory strategy, will try to reposition Romtelecom’s voice products to compete more effectively with those offered by such rivals as RCS/RDS.
Although Romtelecom operates the fast growing DTH platform Dolce, the bulk of its revenues still come from the fixed voice segment.
