GlobeCast is to update and enlarge its playout centre and MCR in London. The move will allow the France Telecom-owned content management and delivery company to increase the capacity of existing services and provide multi-platform solutions.
The unspecified investment will double the capacity at the Grays Inn Road building, designed by Sir Norman Foster, which is shared with the commercial news provider ITN.
The new centre will be IPTV and mobile TV capable and offer improvements in graphics. The system will be completed by June when existing clients including Arsenal TV and The Poker Channel will be upgraded.
