BET Networks new partner in Xbox Live

April 16, 2008 09.16 Europe/London By Robert Briel

BET Networks has said it has signed a deal with Microsoft to offer a selection of full-length BET television shows for download to the Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live online service. Shows offered will include College Hill 4, American Gangster, Comic View and Iron Ring.

Currently, the Xbox Live Marketplace features more than 4,200 hours of entertainment content from more than 40 studios and networks. Played back over the Xbox console, the programmes can be viewed on a regular TV set. Microsoft claims it is the only such service also offering HD programming.

“By adding this popular programming from the BET library, our list of consumer favorites on Xbox Live continues to thrive,” said Ross Honey, senior director, Media and Entertainment Group at Microsoft in a prepared statement. “Xbox Live offers more than twice the on-demand high definition content than the leading cable provider.”
