Deutsche Telekom’s acquisition of a stake in the Greek incumbent OTE is likely to be finalised this Friday.
Sources in Greece say that under the terms of an agreement signed by the two parties, the Greek government and Deutsche Telekom will each have an equal stake in OTE, with the former choosing the president and the latter the MD.
The agreement, which still has to be approved by the Greek parliament, will only be for a specific period, after which Deutsche Telekom will be free to take complete control of OTE.
Last month it was announced that the German company would only be buying a 19.9% stake in OTE for $2.5 billion.
