The Czech public broadcaster CT plans to start HD transmissions in 2010. Speaking to the local press, the station’s technical director Rudolf Pop said that format would first be used in coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
CT, as well as TV Nova, Prima TV and Telefónica O2, have all already undertaken HD trials. There are also a growing number of channels in the format being made available in the Czech Republic, including HBO HD, Nat Geo HD and Voom HD.
