Poland should have a fourth DTH platform in Q3 this year thanks to the agreement just signed between Orange and Eutelsat.
The launch date was confirmed to local sources by Wojciech Jabczynski, the spokesman for France Telecom-backed TPSA, the Polish incumbent telco and provider of Orange services in the country.
TPSA president Maciej Witucki added that TPSA would cooperate with Canal+ but also offer its own channels. Furthermore, it would source its own decoders.
With Poland already served by the DTH platforms Cyfrowy Polsat, Cyfra+ and n, and the public broadcaster TVP also considering launching a service, consolidation in the market is now seen by most industry observers as inevitable.
