Amdocs has further extended its hold on cable service fulfilment with the purchase of London-based Jacobs Rimell in a deal worth $45 million (€28.67m).
“By adding this powerful application suite, Amdocs provides a comprehensive solution to enable broadband cable providers to automate high volume processes for ‘right first time’ service fulfillment for both consumers and businesses,” said Eli Gelman, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Amdocs Management Limited.
Amdocs has made a number of purchases in recent years that have brought about an element of consolidation in the cable OSS sector. In July 2005 the company bought DST Innovis for $238m, then a year later Cramer Systems was purchased for $375m.
Jacobs Rimell customers include UPC, Virgin Media and Cablecom.
