The Hungarian incumbent telco Magyar Telekom is still interested in acquiring a stake in its Slovenian counterpart.
Speaking to the local press, Christopher Mattheisen, chairman and CEO of Magyar Telekom, said the DT-backed telco would finish its reorganisation this month and continue to look at foreign acquisitions, with the focus principally on the Balkan region.
Telekom Slovenije was a recent take-over target for Magyar Telekom, though the latter failed to make a final short list of bidders, before the sale was halted in February. There is a good chance that a new tender for Telekom Slovenije will be announced later this year.
