Macedonia’s Broadcasting Council will call a tender this month for licences for 10 satellite services.
Five of the licences will be for TV channels with general entertainment programming, while the remaining five will be for thematic TV channels.
It is expected that the licences will be awarded by July. The conditions for taking part in the tender will include a €3 million bank guarantee, at least 60 employees and high quality digital equipment.
According to local media reports, five companies have so far expressed an interest in taking part in the tender.
