Norwegian technologist T-VIPS has been named as the preferred supplier for National Grid Wireless (NGW) as it upgrades the Service Information (SI) Manager on its two DTT multiplexes.
Although Multiplexes C and D are not regionalised themselves, the multiplexes need to carry programme information from the other multiplexes that are regionalised, such as the local news on BBC One and advertising opt outs on the national commercial channels.
T-VIPS is supplying a Transport Stream Processor from its cProcessor product family, which provides broadcasting distributors with processing, multiplexing and monitoring of MPEG Transport Streams.
NGW is currently the subject of a merger with rival UK transmission provider Arqiva.
