The Carlyle Group has announced it has made a €1.1 billion investment in French cablenet Numericable, and its subsidiary Completel, taking a 37.8% stake. The purchase was made from investment group Altice and the UK-based private equity fund Cinven.
It confirms last December’s statement, when Carlyle said it would purchase a 35% holding in Numericable.
The move is believed to represent the largest ever private equity transaction in France.
