The Polish public broadcaster TVP has scrapped plans to launch a film channel. Local reports indicate that the decision was made due to market conditions, and in particular technological changes associated with the transition to digital broadcasting. However, TVP, which already operates several other thematic channels, did not rule out the possibility of launching such a service at some future date.
